Sometimes, employees and their family members need to take a few minutes for their mental health. Especially in light of the COVID-19 pandemic, these moments often come when there is little time to spare—and that’s where the RxWell app comes in. Whether feeling anxious, stressed, or sad, users can access RxWell for free right from their smartphone. This service replaces Brain Manager, which sunset on September 30, 2020.
The RxWell app can help employees and family members become emotionally and physically healthy by combining health coaching support with proven techniques. Each program—stress, anxiety, and depression—offers self-guided activities to help individuals get calm in minutes, as well as track and change thinking patterns. In addition, a weight loss program will be added to the menu of services shortly. For guidance, support or questions, users can message their dedicated health coach.

RxWell is the newest addition to the UPMC Prescription for Wellness portfolio. Now, providers have a digital channel to connect patients with health coaches. Patients choose their preferred way of connecting to promote healthy behaviors, self-manage common chronic diseases or make informed decisions about surgeries.
