Update to NGL’s COVID-19 policies
Due the financial constraints the pandemic placed on many customers, NGL’s policy lapse time frame was extended to 120 days and their free look cancellation period to 60 days in March. They’ve been continuously monitoring the situation to ensure they are providing excellent service to customers during these unprecedented times.
As of October 1, 2020, NGL will be modifying the temporary extension of the policy lapse from 120 days to 90 days. For now they will maintain the extension of their lapse timing of 90 days, but at some point this will return to the standard 60 days. Please note that the lapse date and corresponding chargeback, if any, is based on the paid to date of the policy.
Click here for a copy of the letter being mailed on September 1, 2020 to policyholders who are at risk of lapse if another payment isn’t made before October 1, 2020. All past due policies can be viewed by running the Past Due Policy Report off the Reportlink on MyNGLIC.com in the folder marked General.
If you have a customer that is in need of assistance with their NGL Preneed policy due to the pandemic, have them call 888.275.2641 with their policy number and NGL representatives will assist them with available payment options.
Free Look Period
The final date for the extended 60 day free look cancellation period is September 1, 2020. For all policies issued September 2, 2020 and after, the free look cancellation period will be 30 days.
