Communication to be sent to off-exchange individual Marketplace members When the American Rescue Plan was signed into law by President Biden on March 11, 2021, it included enhanced federal funding through tax credits to help individuals and families get lower cost health care coverage through the Marketplace. Some members who did not qualify previously, may now be eligible for these savings, which can significantly lower the cost of their monthly premiums. The off-exchange individual Marketplace members will receive a communication on or around May 12, 2021 from UPMC Health Plan notifying them of this potential cost saving opportunity. Updates were made to the identified policies, which resulted in adjustments (chargebacks) being applied to your 4/24/2021 statement, paid out on 4/30/2021. UPMC Health Plan Extends Members’ Out-Of-Pocket Cost Waivers for In-Network Telehealth Visits, Inpatient COVID-19 Treatment and Monoclonal Treatment This communication has been sent to all commercial group accounts Following the recent renewal of the public health emergency by Health and Human Services, (HHS), UPMC Health Plan confirmed that it will continue to waive all deductibles, coinsurance and copays for in-network, inpatient COVID-19 treatment for its members enrolled in its Medicare Advantage plans, fully-insured employer group and individual ACA plans, as well as in self-insured employer group plans that do not opt out of this coverage. This policy change is effective immediately and will stay in effect through July 20, 2021. ACA Individual Market Update Important Reminders on the American Rescue Plan (ARP) Pennie and Healthcare.gov have updated their websites to include new subsidy amounts. The COVID-SEP has been extended for both on-and-off exchange policies to August 15th. The Highmark Producer Portal, producer.highmark.com, will continue to accept off-exchange enrollment until August 15th. Individuals can enroll in a plan up to the last day of the month. UPMC Partner Network Now Available for Groups with 51+ Employees UPMC Health Plan is pleased to announce that effective July 1, 2021 their UPMC Partner Network will be available on Business Advantage and Consumer Advantage products for new and renewal commercial accounts with 51+ employees. UPMC Partner Network will provide access to high quality health care providers and facilities through a narrower network at a lower cost, and will be available on both fully insured and ASO business for groups. The law includes a temporary, 100% federal subsidy for continuation coverage available under the Consolidated Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act of 1985 (COBRA). This premium assistance is available for six months of coverage beginning on April 1, 2021 and continues through September 30, 2021.
